What's in a number?

Numbers are here for us to keep track of things. This week is my 30 week. Starting with last Friday and ending tomorrow. Last Friday I was officially 30 weeks pregnant. Tomorrow I turn 30 years old. I have had a fun time finding quotes about this milestone and thinking about what it means to me personally.

I remember back in high school thinking that 30 was so OLD. Now that I am here it doesn't feel old at all. In fact in some ways I feel like I was just in high school and now that is 12 years and more behind me. I now feel like at 30 I have so much more life experience, more wisdom, more stress, more fun - just more. I am proud to be 30. It is awesome.

I found a great sale on diapers and went and bought some little ones for the new baby. It made it feel SO real. I keep feeling like it is so far away and yet I only have 10 weeks left. It is fun to think that at 30 weeks pregnant I am so close to having this new life in my family. I am getting so excited.

Here are some of my favorite quotes about turning 30.

Here is to 30 more years! I hope I feel this young at 60.

I DID IT!

My Relief Society gave us a challenge in January to complete the Book of Mormon in 80 Days. The program was set up so that each day had what we were supposed to read as well as a spiritual thought and scripture of the day.

Over the course of my life I have had challenges similar to this one at least 3-4 times. I usually start off gung-ho and get through about 2 Nephi then slow down or stop all together. This time I was able to continue all the way to the end! Tomorrow is the final day and I finished this afternoon. This was an amazing experience to read the Book of Mormon at such a quick pace. It was not easy for me since I am a very slow reader. I would get behind and have to spend sometimes hours in order to catch up. I am so thankful that I was able to continue and finish. I am grateful for two main reasons. 1st - I am proud of myself for sticking to a goal and finishing it. 2nd - What an amazing book. I learned so much reading it this time around and am thankful for the peace that it has given me when I needed it.

So this post is basically just to pat myself on the back, but I would challenge all of you to read the Book of Mormon if you have not. And if you have, read it again!

Happy Easter!

This was a wonderful Easter weekend. I love it when General Conference and Easter coincide. I was lucky enough to have the weekend off because it was our schools spring break. It made for a busy and fun weekend. Friday night the kids and I drove down to my sisters for her daughters birthday party. We went on a scavenger hunt at the mall. The kids had so much fun looking for the birthday stuff on the list. It was fun searching and seeing the kids get excited.

Saturday we had my family over to dye Easter eggs and have lunch. The kids always have fun dying the eggs and lunch was great. It was a fairly short party because we were trying to fit it in between conference and work schedules.

Sunday morning the kids woke up very excited to go find eggs. Our Easter baskets were unavailable due to the basement construction so we improvised with paper sacks and shoe boxes.

Can you say CHEESE! My friend Adrienne made the adorable skirts and tie. She did an awesome job and I think they look so cute! Kortnie was very funny about her skirt though - she did not want to wear it. This girl wants to wear a skirt almost every day, but because I wanted her to wear a skirt she wanted to wear pants! We had to make a deal to get her to wear them for pictures and long enough to show Grandma Ann and Grandma and Grandpa Denos.

I enjoyed having the chance to listen to conference and spend time with family this weekend.
